RHAA is pleased to announce an exciting new program for 2013, Girls Tournament softball, the RHAA Ravens! This will be a competitive tournament team that will go and compete in softball tournaments around the area.
Tryout date for the Ravens will be December 1st, 1pm to 3pm @ Burger Middle School. There is a fee of $5 per player for this tryout.
Players will be evaluated and selected by a panel of board members and coaches. There are a maximum of 12 slots on the team, the coach may invite 2 alternates who will join the team should one of the selected players become unable to fulfill their commitment. Alternates are allowed to practice with the team, but can not participate in games unless activated. There are no guarantees on play time or position choice, those are the sole discretion of the coach.
The Ravens is a year long commitment. Players are required to play house softball along with the Ravens, and they will be scheduled to minimize conflicts. The Ravens will play in weekend tournaments several times through the year, and will play a lot of scrimmage games against other travel teams in between tournaments.
There will also be many other opportunities for advanced coaching, special events, and clinics. The exact schedule will depend on the coach, but expect to be playing or practicing very often.
We will form teams based on participation. if there are not enough players for a specific age level, then there will not be a team for that age group for that year's season, but could be added the following year.
If there is no team formed for your age level, your tryout fee will be refunded.
Overall cost is to be determined yet, but will be significantly less than other comparable travel clubs in the area, a conservative estimate of around $250-300+ the cost of the house program, which is still several hundred dollars less than the least expensive travel clubs.
